Shops, Markets

Pourville-sur-mer and the Dieppe region around Villa Quartz

Shops, Markets

There are a few shops on Pourville (grocery store, bakery, pastry shop), but to do more complete shopping and have more choice, it is necessary to move to Varengeville, Dieppe or Offranville. We have gathered for you, in this guide, the main businesses in our sector that we would like to advise you. These are the places where we buy ourselves, and we are happy with them. On this page, you will also find the list of the main markets in the region, including that of Dieppe, which has just been voted "most beautiful market in France"!

Local grocery stores

Nearest to Villa Quartz, you will find the "Aux saveurs d'Eric" grocery store on Pourville beach, and a small Coccimarket in the center of Varengeville-sur-Mer. The choice is limited, but the quality products. A little further on, on the heights between Pourville and Dieppe, the Fruit Hall is a grocery store that offers quality products: a wide range of fruits and vegetables, but also cheeses and wines. And by going a few more kilometers, in the city center of Dieppe, the "Olivier" delicatessen is a must for lovers of great cheese and great wine vintages!

Aux Saveurs d'Eric

Pourville, beach
It is the closest grocery store and is located in the Pourville beach car park, not far from the Régates restaurant. A small delicatessen run by Eric, with high quality products: fruits & vegetables, good wines, cold meats, cheeses, etc. Ideal if you want to taste good products, and exchange a few words with Eric who will be happy to welcome you and advise you. Budget a little high, but which remains reasonable and "normal" given the quality of the products. Open daily: 9 am-8pm.

Coccimarket

Varengeville, centre
Supermarket run by Christelle and located 2-3 km away, in the center of Varengeville-sur-Mer near the Town Hall. (Open: 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. / 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday morning). The choice is not as large as in a supermarket, but large enough to meet the daily needs of a stay at Villa Quartz.

La Halle aux Fruits

Dieppe, Janval district
Julien Brennetuit, nicknamed "Bidou", is a seasoned professional who favors quality. He chooses his products "with love" and sells them to us "with humor"! La Halle aux Fruits offers one of the widest fruit and vegetable offers in the Dieppe region: seasonal vegetables and fruits, local or exotic productions, each more tempting than the next, and of impeccable quality. Bidou also offers a range of fine wines, from the simplest to the greatest vintage, which it selects from the best producers. (Open LMMJVS 8:30 am-12:30pm / 2:30 pm-7pm).

Olivier grocery store

Dieppe, center
For those who love good wines, cheese, and quality products, the “Olivier” delicatessen is a must in Dieppe, rue Saint-Jacques. Bénédicte took over the shop created by her grandfather 50 years ago, who turned it into a high quality cellar and cheese factory. The best Norman products rub shoulders with the greatest French wines, and its reputation extends beyond regional borders! Do not hesitate to "crack" on Camembert with Calvados, one of the great specialties of the House. (Open LMMJVS 8 am-12.30pm / 2.00-7.15pm)

Supermarkets

To find hypermarkets and supermarkets, you can go to Dieppe where you have the choice between the very large Belvédère shopping center which has developed around Auchan (5km), the Leclerc center (8 km) or Intermarché ( 7 km). As for us, we have a preference for the Carrefour Market in Offranville (6 km). Almost the same distance as Dieppe, it is a human-sized supermarket (neither too big nor too small), and you can find everything there, without crowds or crowds, and even on Sunday mornings.

Le Belvedere (Auchan)

Dieppe (exit towards Rouen)
The Belvédère shopping center is the most important in the Dieppe region. It is located 5 kilometers away, at the exit of Dieppe, in the direction of Rouen. Around the Auchan hypermarket, there are major brands such as Darty, Intersports, Norauto, Buffalo, Bricodépôt, Conforama, la Halle, Armand Thierry, etc. This center should be avoided on Saturdays because of the crowds and parking difficulties!

The Leclerc center

Dieppe, East of Dieppe
The Leclerc center is located east of the city of Dieppe, further than the Belvédère center (8 km). Unlike Auchan, few brands have developed around the hypermarket, which is therefore more isolated.

Carrefour Market

Offranville
If you want to do your shopping in a supermarket, we recommend the Carrefour Market in Offranville. Not very far (5 km), large enough to have a wide choice of products, not too large to risk getting lost. Easy parking. Open: 9 am-7pm on weekdays, and Sunday morning until noon.

Intermarché

Dieppe, East
Located not far from the Leclerc center, 7 km from Pourville, Intermarché can be an alternative for shopping in supermarkets. The fishmonger section is excellent there, Intermarché having its own fishing fleet based in Boulogne. The scallop sold at Intermarché is fished in Dieppe, and can be found at a better price than at fishmongers!

Bakeries, pastry shops

Foodies will not be disappointed, because between Maison Boivin in Varengeville, Tarte Normande in Petit-Appeville and Pâtisserie Divernet in Dieppe, the choice is divinely large: bricohes, Norman pies, macaroons, Royal Chocolat! The embarrassment of the choice to satisfy its greed!

Chez Adèle

Pourville
It is the closest bakery and pastry shop to Villa Quartz, located on Pourville beach. You can walk there in 5 minutes. It is not the best in the Dieppe region, but its bread and pastries are still quite correct. It is open every day during the summer, but quite often closed out of season (Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday and often during school holidays). His specialties: the old-fashioned baguette and savourette. Prefer the old-fashioned baguette which has more flavor. Brasserie for lunch with good value for money, and with fresh fries!

La Maison Boivin

Varengeville centre
Located near the Town Hall in the heart of Varengeville-sur-Mer, Maison Boivin is renowned, and rightly so, for the quality of its breads and pastries, but also for its famous brioches, essential at the time of Sunday afternoon snack! Also fall for its incomparable strawberries!

La Tarte Normande

Little Appeville
This bakery is located 2.5 km from the Villa, or 5 minutes by car. As its name suggests, its specialty is Norman tart. It's true, this apple tart flavored with Calvados is remarkable! But the bread and other pastries are also excellent! So admittedly, it's a little further from Villa Quartz (just 5mn for 2.5km), but many of our guests often prefer the Tarte Normande to its competitors: the bread tastes better, the pastries have more flavor. finesse, and a smile is always there!

Divernet pastry

Dieppe city center
During your stay, do not refuse the essential Dieppe pastry chef: DIVERNET, located in downtown Dieppe, in the pedestrian street. The cakes and chocolates are amazing. Fall in love with MACARONS, and more particularly "Maca-bombecs", made from real sweets from our childhood. The “Royal Chocolat” is also delicious!

Fishmongers, seafood

If you are a fish lover, you will be in for a treat! On the beaches of Pourville and Quiberville-sur-Mer (10 km), fishermen sell their fishing products every day, when the weather permits! Fresh fish guaranteed, and at rock bottom prices. If you want more elaborate products or products from elsewhere, the fishmonger "A l'Ecaille d'Or" is the best in the Dieppe region, located 3 km from Villa Quartz on the heights of Dieppe: Sébastien cooks wonderfully seafood and you can bring back cooked meals to your lodge. In Pourville, the oysters from L'Huitrière, refined on site by the Gouberts, are delicious. Lover of trout? The Source fish farm, in Saint-Aubin-sur-Scie, offers a whole range of delicious smoked trout to be enjoyed whole or in rillettes ...

Landing sale

Quiberville and Pourville
You are by the sea, so make the most of it! You can get your supplies directly from the fishermen, who come to sell their "landings" every day on Pourville beach (in the car park of the oyster at the end of the beach), and on the beach of Quiberville-sur-mer (in 5-6 km following the coastal road). In Quiberville, prefer our friend Christelle du Neptune III ...! Their opening hours depend on the tide and the weather. You won't find anyone in a storm. The choice is limited to the catch of the day and it is therefore variable according to the seasons: soles, plaice, dabs, whelks, rays, turbot, etc. The prices are very low and defy all competition! Please note: the fish is so fresh that it is often necessary to wait a day or two before cooking it ... Ask the seller about the best date for consumption!

L'Ecaille d'or

Dieppe, janval
It is "The" Dieppe fish market par excellence, the best of all, with seafood of irreproachable quality, copious seafood platters, superb fish and elaborate cooked dishes ... boiling, release delicious scents throughout the shop. You will always be greeted with a smile and in a good mood from Sébastien who will be pleased to offer you a 10% discount on all your purchases if you come from Villa Quartz.

L'Huitrière

Pourville
You will find delicious oysters at L'HUITRIERE, at the end of Pourville beach, on the left after the Bakery, in the large white building. They are raised in basins in Pourville. You can take them to eat in your Lodge, remembering to ask for them to be opened to you beforehand. L'Huitrière also offers excellent smoked salmon. From April to September, l'Huitrière also opens an upstairs restaurant with a beautiful sea view. A local atmosphere, "in its own juice"!

Pisciculture de la Source

Saint-Aubin-sur-Scie
If you like smoked trout, we are fortunate to be very close to one of the best fish farms in France, where even the Elysée kitchens are supplied: the pisciculture de la Source (Maison VOUGA), near 'Offranville. You will find smoked trout of all sizes, to be enjoyed hot or cold, as well as derived products (trout rillettes, etc.). You can also fish in the ponds.

Markets

Dieppe markets

Dieppe, (Saturday, Tuesday and Thursday morning)
